Monetisation
- RevShare - revenue-share payout. The affiliate earns an ongoing percentage (typically 20-50%) of revenue the referred user generates for the platform, often for the lifetime of the account.
- CPA - cost per action. A one-off payout when a referred user completes a defined action (signup, deposit, subscription). Typical adult CPAs range from $1 (email submit) to $100+ (verified deposit).
- CPL - cost per lead. Payout for a qualified lead, usually a signup with verified details.
- Hybrid - a smaller CPA plus a reduced RevShare. Most common on mature cam and creator-platform programs.
- PPS - pay per sale; a specific form of CPA tied to completed payment.
- Smartlink - a single affiliate URL that routes traffic to the best-matching offer for the visitor (by geo, device, language, etc.).
Traffic
- Whitelabel - a dating, cam, or creator platform rebranded under the affiliate’s own domain and visual identity, typically with full conversion attribution.
- Mainstream traffic - traffic sources that do not officially permit adult ads (most social networks, most SSPs). Requires cloaking and/or strict compliance.
- Adult traffic - ad networks that openly accept adult verticals (TrafficJunky, ExoClick, TrafficStars, etc.).
- Pop - popunder/popover traffic formats; low CPM, high volume.
- Native - in-feed ads designed to look like editorial content. Works on some adult SSPs.
- Tube traffic - traffic sourced from adult tube sites (their on-site ads, linkbox, or pre-roll slots).
Compliance
- 2257 - U.S. federal record-keeping requirement (18 U.S.C. ยง2257) for producers of depictions of real sexually explicit conduct. Affiliates are not usually primary producers but must understand the chain.
- KYC - know-your-customer verification; model onboarding and payout onboarding.
- Age verification (AV) - third-party verification of a visitor’s age. Required in a growing list of U.S. states and in the U.K. (Online Safety Act).
- Payment processor - Visa/Mastercard facing acquirer for adult merchants (CCBill, Epoch, Segpay, etc.). Adult merchants are classified as high-risk.
- Chargeback - a consumer-initiated payment reversal. Adult is a high-chargeback vertical; repeat chargebacks threaten merchant accounts.
Product + platforms
- Cam site - live-streaming webcam platform with tip- and private-show-based monetisation.
- Clip store - on-demand video marketplace (Clips4Sale, ManyVids, etc.).
- Creator platform - OnlyFans and its alternatives: subscription- and PPV-based creator storefronts.
- Escort directory - classified listing site for independent providers (legal implications vary by jurisdiction).
Measurement
- EPC - earnings per click; network-reported average revenue per outbound click to a program.
- Conversion rate - percentage of clicks that turn into the counted action (varies wildly by offer type).
- Chargeback rate - percentage of sales that end up reversed; Visa soft cap is around 0.9%.
- Scrub - reduction in payout for “low-quality” converted traffic; common on CPA programs that want to dissuade fraud.
AI in adult affiliate (2026 context)
- AI companion - LLM-driven chat/voice partner platforms (a growing sub-vertical with its own affiliate programs).
- AI content / synthetic media - generated video, image, or voice; many platforms now have explicit policies on whether it can be monetised.
- Generative SEO / GEO - optimising for discovery in generative answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude). The reason this site ships /llms.txt and a full-content dump.
