Chaturbate Glossary
This is a list of definitions of words, phrases, and spectacle that commonly occur on or are used on Chaturbate between the broadcasters and their viewers.
Blue members Chaturbate Username
Blue members or “blues” are Chaturbate users who have or had at least one token within the past 2 weeks. There are two types of blue members:
Dark blue members are those who have spent at least 50 tokens on Chaturbate within the last 2 weeks, either by tipping some broadcaster(s) or by converting the tokens to cash.
Light blue members are users who have at least one token, but have not spent at least 50 tokens within the past 2 weeks.
A way of identifying all blue members is through the color used for the display of their usernames on the chat section of a chat room. The color is dark blue for dark blue members or light blue for light blue members.
Green members
Green members are users who are currently in the fan club of a particular broadcaster. The user’s username is displayed in green letters in the chat room where he or she is a fan club member of the broadcaster.
Grey members
Grey members or “greys” are users who have no tokens. Their usernames are displayed in grey color, in the chat room.
Red members Chaturbate Username
Red members are users who are moderators in a particular chat room. Their usernames are displayed in red color in the chat room(s) where these users are the moderators.
Orange members
In a chat room, the user whose username is written in orange color is the broadcaster, also known as the model.
New colors introduced!
In around July of 2014, Chaturbate introduced new colors in Chaturbate Username:
Light Purple names for those who have tipped at least 250 tokens in the past 2 weeks, and Dark Purple names for those who have tipped at least 1000 tokens in the past 2 weeks.

The Cam Shows
Group Show
A group show is a private show in which the broadcaster or model entertains “privately” more than one viewer. Depending on the preferred settings by the model, a group show may require a certain amount of users (2,3,4, or 5) in order for the group show request to be approve-able by the model. Once it is approved, the users would automatically start paying a set amount of tokens per minute to the broadcaster, while being able to direct the show by asking the model to do or show specific sexy things.
Private Show
A private show is a kind of show where the broadcaster or model is in an exclusive chat with the viewer; other viewers in the chatroom would not be able to see the private show. In a private show, the viewer can totally direct the show by asking the model to do or show specific sexy things. The viewer automatically pays a certain amount of tokens per minute to the model, as set by the broadcaster. A viewer can request to enter a private show by clicking the “Start Private Show” button beneath the chat box of the model during a live broadcast.
Tokens
A token is a virtual currency that can be used in a number of ways. It can only be bought with real money. On Chaturbate, tokens can be used to buy a model’s pictures or videos. Users can also “tip” a model by giving out some tokens to the model, often in exchange for specific sexy requests such as asking the model to “flash” her breasts or strip. The monetary value of tokens varies for the buyers depending on quantity purchased, but is constant for the receivers (the models) who may convert the tokens to cash and get paid by Chaturbate with real money.
